Military Uniforms past and present. Enthusiasts, re-enactors, real military, all are welcome.
This community is brand new! So expect much more to come. Get in on the ground floor!

Membership open to all. Please read the community rules!

mil_uniforms is a community for people who love military uniforms. Whether they be ancient, modern, futuristic, real, or fictional, all have a place on mil_uniforms. This community is open to anyone who wants to discuss military uniforms, fancy dress, costumes, post pictures, show off your uniforms, design your own, or get help setting yours up to real military regulations. Whether you are a military member, a fashion designer, a re-enactor, doing research, or just want to post some pictures you found, this is the place for you. Posting an intro for new members is optional although we would all be happy to get to know you.

A few simple rules:

1) Keep all posts on the topic of military uniforms, accessories, uniform based fashion, or related subjects (A related subject would be like medals, badges, movies that feature uniforms, methods of construction etc.).

2) Always tag your posts.

3) For graphics heavy posts use an LJ CUT. Don't know what an LJ CUT is? Go here http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75

4) Uniforms from all nations are acceptable material but try to stay away from police, fire, or other civil uniforms. Partisan or rebel uniforms are acceptable as long as they provide some level of distinction from the civilian populace. Insurgents dressed in civilian clothing do not count.

5) It is illegal in the U.S. for anyone to make serious claims to have earned medals, devices, tabs, and badges they did not in fact earn. Likewise it is illegal in the U.S. for anyone to claim affiliation with any military organization that they do, or did not, actually belong to. mil_uniforms will not tolerate any such false claims.

6) That last one seemed kind of scary but it isn't! All it means is that no one should claim to be anything they are not. So the main rule is to HAVE FUN!
